Taking into account the comments and suggestions made in HYIP Investing Strategy Part I (It used to be entitled Test Spends. Good or Bad???) http://goldentalk.com/t5214.html my strategy has evolved into this.
This is aimed at the newcomer to HYIP to try and help them NOT to make horrendous and expensive mistakes. This strategy is based purely on the PROBABILITY of an HYIP paying out over a period of time. There is only one certainty in HYIP and that is that sooner or later the HYIP will disappear. When is the great unknown! I have been using this strategy for many months but it’s always been in my head and not spelled out like this. However, based on months of research this strategy gives you the best option of not losing OVERALL and making SOME PROFIT on around 65% of your chosen HYIP’s. The other 35% will not be out and out losses because some or even all will have earned you something back. Bear in mind that your chosen HYIP MIGHT fold at any time and you could be unlucky enough to chose only those that fold early. If that happens then get out of HYIP, it’s not for you. Try ROI aurosurfers instead. Or your choices COULD carry on for a year or more. If that happens then more power to your elbow and good luck to you. Find an HYIP that you might like to invest in. Do not select another one until the previous one has earned you withdrawn cash for 3 consecutive days. Don’t be in such a hurry to throw your money away. Invest in haste, repent at leisure! Is the interest rate 4% or lower? Yes! Proceed to next stage. No! Select another HYIP. Is the HYIP current running time: between 20 and 100 days for 1%? between 20 and 80 days for 2%? between 20 and 60 days for 3%? between 20 and 50 days for 4%? Yes! Proceed to next stage. No! Go back to the beginning or proceed with caution. If the interest rate is somewhere in between those listed select the nearest rate down. E.g. If the rate is 1.25% use 1%. If it is 1.5% use 1%. If it is 2.1% use 2%. Is the domain registration expiry date at least 150 days (5 months) away? You can check the domain registration and expiry dates at Whois at http://www.whois.sc/ Just input the HYIP URL or just its name. Yes! Proceed to next stage. No! Go back to the beginning. Have payments been made regularly without problems during the days before you want to join? Check on HYIP Monitor at http://www.hyipmonitor.com/ and/or Gold Poll at http://www.goldpoll.com/ and the “I Have Been Paid By …” section of this forum. There are other monitoring sites but ……… Yes! Proceed to next stage. No! Go back to the beginning or if other monitoring sites claim regular payments proceed with caution. Does the HYIP have a contact form or email address? Yes! Proceed to next stage. No! Go back to the beginning. Test it by sending a contact message. Does a reply come back within the specified time or shortly thereafter? Yes! Proceed to next stage. No! Proceed with caution. Has this been easy to follow so far? Yes! Proceed to next stage. No! Go straight to the corner and kneel on dried peas for one hour. Do not pass Go, do not collect $200. Does the HYIP have it’s own forum or at least a thread in Golden Talk? Yes! Proceed to next stage. No! Proceed with caution. Is payout made DAILY direct into your E-Gold account or can you withdraw DAILY? Yes! Skip the next stage. No! Proceed to next stage. In light of recent events I have re-assessed my withdrawing strategy. I now withdraw when my account reaches $5 or each Saturday, whichever comes the sooner. Is payout made WEEKLY direct into your E-Gold account or can you withdraw WEEKLY? Yes! Proceed to next stage. No! Go back to the beginning. Can your initial investment be added to at any time? Yes! Proceed to next stage. No! Go back to the beginning or proceed with caution. Invest the minimum allowed. Have you received a payout on 3 consecutive paying days more or less at the same part of the day? Or have you received a payout on 2 successive weeks? Yes! Proceed to next stage. No! Go back to the beginning and hope that the programme lasts so that you get you investment back. Add to your investment an amount that you are PREPARED TO LOSE. Is the HYIP still paying out 120 days after you joined for 1%? 60 days after you joined for 2%? 40 days after you joined for 3%? 30 days after you joined for 4%? Yes! Proceed to next stage. No! Go back to the beginning. Carry on earning until the programme eventually folds, as it surely will. You are in profit and no matter what the HYIP does it will not alter that fact. DO NOT RE-INVEST! If the cash in your E-Gold account is burning a hole in your pocket find another HYIP and go back to the beginning. You might think that you are losing an opportunity if you don’t re-invest in an HYIP that has been paying but the operative words are HAS BEEN PAYING and that is no guarantee that it will continue to pay. But if you really do want to re-invest then only use any profits (preferably just half of them) generated from that particular HYIP. DO NOT RE-INVEST WITH NEW MONEY! DO NOT SELECT THE COMPOUNDING option. All that does is keeps YOUR money in the HYIP. It might look great watching your balance grow day by day but should it fold you get ZILCH. Remember – a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. If you are prepared to take a chance and carry on instead of following the ‘Go back to the beginning’ recommendation and you do so THREE TIMES, abandon that HYIP and find another. The reader will have noticed that I make no mention of the return of the principle. If it is returnable and you claim it you automatically come out of the HYIP and thus stop earning. If it is returnable and you don’t claim it or is not returnable, it is earning you more interest day by day until the HYIP folds or the plan expires. You choose what to do and when to do it. I am not getting rich but I am nicely in profit and that is the best that you can hope for in HYIP unless you have a lot of money to begin with and get very lucky. These guidelines are flexible to a degree. For instance you may select an HYIP that has only been running 18 days so if all 18 days have been paying days you might decide to join a wee bit early. You may decide to withdraw every few days or even weekly to save on E-Gold charges. You may decide to make your initial spend more than the minimum. You might prefer to wait more than 3 days before increasing your stake or not increase it at all. It’s just a guide to help newcomers to the HYIP waters ease their way into HYIP and earn whilst they learn and gain experience. Until recently I was in favour of withdrawing once a week, usually at the weekend to save on E-Gold charges. However I have amended that slightly. I will now withdraw once a week or when there is $5 or more to withdraw. It works for me. Finally what about those HYIP’s that offer more than 4%? Very risky is all I can say. If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably will be. Having said that an HYIP offering a high interest rate MIGHT be worth a minimum spend IF you get in within the first 30 days or so. 27th May 2006 Starting on the 5th July I have applied the above strategy to 12 sites. One is still paying on schedule and in profit and four more in profit but they have now gone. That is 50% have gone before I got my stake back. Real-Fund - $50 – Paid $156.00 so far. $106.00 IN PROFIT. Visual Invest - $30 – Paid $64.85. IN PROFIT. Current payments ($8.62) still pending. GreenHYIP - $50 – Paid $75.56. IN PROFIT. AWOL. ExpInvestInternational - $100 - Paid $117.50. IN PROFIT. AWOL. DutchService - $20 - Paid $56.96. IN PROFIT. AWOL.. Lucky Live - $50 - Paid $28.00 so far. Stopped paying. Rue Wemir - $30 – Paid $26.25 so far. Site gone. Golden Year - $50 - Paid $10.20 so far. Site gone. MoneTech - $25 - Paid $11.05 so far. Site gone. Global Pay Network - $20 - Paid Zilch. Disappeared within a few days OvernightFund - $20 – Paid $6.26 so far. Site gone. Make More Money - $25 – Paid $2.70 so far. Site gone. Total Gambled - $470.00 Earned to date - $555.33 Overall profit to date - $85.33 So what did all this prove? Simply that finding an HYIP that is likely to last is not an exact science. |

Jambutty, thanks for detailed and wise words. It is the golden and proven path for us to follow. I have the following question I wanted to ask:
1. How do you determine the start day of the HYIP? 2. According to your rule, is between 20th & 100th day somehow crucial to start the investment? 3. In your past investment experiences, is daily program usually has faster folding rate than like weekly or monthly program? Thanks.

A site will publish its start date or running time and you can verify this with a Whois search ken123 although the Whois data doesn’t always coincide EXACTLY with what is stated on the site.
My research suggested that a site is most likely to disappear before about the 20th day of operation or after about 5 to 6 months. So during the time between it is unlikely to run off. So if you join between the 20th and 100th running day of the site there will be enough time to break even before the 6 months is up. But there will always be exceptions. I don’t think that there is a great deal of difference between daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly or three monthly sites. It’s just that with a daily paying site you are getting something back each day and thus lessening your losses if the site does go off. Weekly isn’t too bad but anything longer is too long for me to wait to get paid. But part 2 is just a guide for the average site. To get an average you must have the two extremes and some sites will be extreme. It is not set in stone. The object of the exercise is not to lose and hopefully gain something. Too many newcomers are blinded by the thought of riches and will chuck in loads of cash on the promise of 10% or 20% per day. Then they wonder why they lose. |

Just curious about which is the right strategy to use on HYIP's.
Assuming we know that the average lifetime of a HYIP is, say 1 month. Also assuming that we know that HYIP's will close at anytime. If there are many HYIP's, some pay 1% a month, some pay 10% a day. Since we know that the average lifetime of a HYIP is, say 1 month, which HYIP is a better bet? The ones paying 1% a month or the ones paying 10% a day? Is it worthwhile waiting 100 months to know whether we can breakeven, or wait just one day to know whether it has run away with our money? |

one day so you can swear when they run off with your money!I think this is a bit of a minefield. there will always be sites that look good, but just stop paying for what ever reason. I've been following a couple sites for about six months on and off, but the ones i picked were soon blacklisted. Sites paying 20-40% a day never last long. |
