Smile London Gold Exchange.

LGE has been in existence for six years and it is arguably the best e-currency exchanger around.

To use LGE you need to register with them because only registered members can access their services after logging in.

During the registering process you have to input your landline phone number. If you do not have a landline you cannot register. You will receive an automated phone call that will tell you a PIN to input.

Registering entails supplying photo ID (driving license or passport) and a scan of a recent utility bill (gas – electric - phone – water bill - bank statement), which must show the same name and address as you register with. It is as simple as that. Unmatched ID’s will not be accepted.

Uploading scans of these documents can only been done via the link on the web site at http://www.londongoldexchange.com/default.asp

Residents of Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria and Romania will not be able to register with LGE.

When you log in you will be sent a PIN just like E-Gold does, although you can turn this OFF if you wish. Not a smart move if you do though.

LGE has not been immune from DDoS attacks but they seem to have that problem sorted.

LGE will exchange either C-Gold, E-Bullion (e-currency), E-Bullion (Gold), E-Bullion (Silver), E-Gold, Eternity Pay/eAccount, Liberty Reserve, Pecunix and Phoenix Dollar (Silver) to any of the others.

You can buy any of those e-currencies with a domestic bank transfer in the UK, Hong Kong, Czech Republic or Spain or International Bank Wire from any bank in the world. The commission rate is 4% except for Eternity Pay/eAccount & Phoenix Dollar (Silver) at 3% and Pecunix at 6%.

You can sell any of these currencies and receive your cash into your bank via a domestic bank transfer in the UK, Hong Kong, Czech Republic or Spain or International Bank Wire to any bank in the world. The commission rate is –5% for E-Bullion and E-Gold, -3% for Phoenix Dollar (Silver) and –1% for the remainder.

Best of all is that they issue a Debit Card (Virtual Money) for $50 including express shipping but it is not available to residents of Texas USA. It is usable at any ATM that takes Maestro/Cirrus cards and as a POS CARD in certain countries.

So LGE is exchanging e-gold again? I began the process some time ago and they were not, so I haven't pursued the membership further

Even after a long time LGE still provides great service. I do have to get a new debit card from them since the last one they issued expired already. Even after a long time the debit card is still $50. This is even after all exchange fees have gone up. Great company still!

Although there is nothing that I can see on the web site, the “UK registrations only” comment has disappeared.

I spotted a banner ad on TG that declared that LGE is now open for international registrations.

That’s what it states.

Charging a fee of 30% is outrageous.

It makes me wonder what they know that we don’t.

Oh yes i really do wonder what they know and we don't?? I had to take a second look at this and e-gold "SELL" "CONVERT" rates are 30% on the other hand the e-gold "BUY" rate is 0%. So why in the world would they charge so high to take our e-gold and not charge a single cent to give theirs away!? It really looks like they are trying to get rid of the e-gold reserves they have. They surely know something we don't.

Question

Many HYIP’s are dumping E-Gold, probably because of how easy it is to get an E-Gold account blocked and the ongoing US authority investigation.

So maybe they are bailing out before the sh1t hits the fan? But that could be years yet – er I think.

Default Exchanging e-Gold

Jambutty,

I was wondering who you would recommend to change e-Gold back to USD/Euro/GBP etc.? Any advice appreciated.

Regards

Hamish

The last I heard was that E-Gold has asked all e-currency exchangers to stop trading in E-Gold. Most have gone along with the request. There are some who haven’t but they charge anything up to 90% exchange fee.

The odd HYIP, like SafeAtom, still accepts E-Gold as deposits but then you will only get back E-Gold.

So as E-Gold has no real value now and for the foreseeable future, I and some others, have dumped our E-Gold into SafeAtom, working on the principle that it may as well work for its keep on the off chance that E-Gold will get over its troubles. If it doesn’t then the money is lost anyway. If SA goes down, the E-Gold is lost. If SA is still around next year and E-Gold recovers we make a lot of money.

I have $450 E-Gold compounded at 100% that will return about $9,000 just before Xmas. I also have $550 not compounded.
